About Me:

I was born and raised in Medicine Hat. This is my ninth year teaching: two years at MHHS, and 7 years here at CHHS. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in secondary education from the University of Alberta. In the past I coached badminton and basketball, while more recently I have turned to coaching cross-country running. I am also part of The Blue Crew, which is the teacher wellness committee. Each year we  organize the CHHS Color Run to raise funds for students in need within our CHHS community.

Travel is one of my biggest interests. I spent 7 weeks backpacking through Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; 6 weeks volunteering teaching English in Peru & travelling to Bolivia; 7 weeks backpacking through Europe in 2015 with my best friend. I'm not sure where my next big adventure will take me - perhaps Africa or Thailand. Travelling allows me to experience culture, meet new people, be adventurous, and expand my horizons. It is such a significant character-building opportunity, and I learn so much every time I travel!

When I'm not teaching or travelling, I enjoy running, working out, camping/boating, reading, watching Tigers hockey games, and spending time with family, friends, and with Cooper, my eight-year old beagle. I have two sisters, three stepsisters, and a whole lot of nieces and nephews.

I love that my career allows me to be a positive influence on young people - I strive to make a difference in their lives!
