Our school division is in the process of creating a
video series with the goal to provide clarity and understanding
for families regarding assessment practices that their
children have been/will be experiencing in MHPSD schools. These videos aim
to highlight samples of the excellent work that our teachers (and students),
are engaged in around assessment.
The first video in the series is: Student Learning
is Amazing
Description – This video series is about student
learning and we want our students to know WHAT they are learning. When a
student’s unique learning needs are met, they build confidence and competence.
We are excited to show our parent communities what we
do everyday and highlight moments of student learning in schools across MHPSD.
We want our students to know:
WHAT it is that they are learning.
WHY they need to learn it.
HOW they will know they have learned it.
We encourage families to use these examples to have
learning conversations in their homes and in classrooms with teachers. We know
that students perform their best when families and schools work together.
